German TV channel showed a CS: GO match in a plot about a terrorist

German television channel ZDF used a cut of the match between Renegades and G2 Esports at DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019 on CS: GO in the plot about the terrorist attack that occurred in Germany on October 9. At a certain point in the report, instead of the teams ’performance, the editors showed shots of shooting the criminal – the design from DreamHack remained in place.

The founder of G2, Carlos ocelote Rodriguez Santiago, drew attention to the plot of the ZDF television channel. He accused journalists of meanness and threatened with a court. After that, ZDF deleted the story and apologized. According to the representatives of the channel, they did not want to give the audience the impression that the CS: GO tournament was somehow connected with the shooting in Germany. Ocelote called the statement “inadequate,” and the channel’s action was “unacceptable.”

DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019 was held from May 28 to June 2 in the United States. In the final, Liquid defeated ENCE with a score of 2: 1. The Americans earned $ 100 thousand, the Finns got $ 50 thousand.
